History was made in Piispanristi, Kaarina, as KiekkoKingi Oy opened what is believed to be one of the world’s very first disc golf simulators—and the first in Finland.
The disc golf simulator operates with advanced TechDisc smart-chip technology, which accurately analyzes players’ throws and projects the results onto a 3x5m screen. Players can monitor their throw speed, spin rate, nose angle, and flight path, providing valuable feedback for improving their throwing technique. In addition to the simulator, the training center offers versatile practice facilities, including movable putting baskets and ample space for focused putting practice.
KiekkoKingi’s CEO, 24-year-old Eemil Matti, explains the decision behind launching the simulator: “We opened the training center a couple of years ago, and it has been incredibly popular among enthusiasts during the winter. We’ve already had customers from around the world, and several top players in the sport practice here. Now, with advancements in technology, we were finally able to realize our long-standing dream of opening a simulator. Since this is likely one of the world’s first disc golf simulators, we had to design and build everything from scratch.”
KiekkoKingi views the simulator as a significant investment in both the local and global disc golf community. “Golf simulators are incredibly popular, so I’m sure we’ll see more disc golf simulators in the future. The technology is still behind that of golf simulators but is developing quickly. We also offer private coaching, which the simulator enhances with new possibilities,” adds Eemil Matti.
The disc golf simulator and the entire training center can be booked in hourly slots via an online booking system. No personal equipment is required, and the store staff is available to assist with using the equipment. Visitors can experience an entirely new kind of disc golf at KiekkoKingi’s facility, located at Piispanristintie 1, 20760 Piispanristi.
KiekkoKingi is a disc golf retail business with both online and physical stores. The indoor training center has already been popular, and the addition of the disc golf simulator represents a significant upgrade. KiekkoKingi is co-owned by Eemil Matti, Samu Markkanen, and Kasper Kanervavuori.
